LYRICS BY CHRISTAIN SAULPAUGH

                                      BEAUTIFUL

You caught me red-handed

In a stare so locked and loaded to be candid

There’s something so striking

That I cannot disengage from what I’m liking

And Beautiful, if you’re the one

Can you guide my dark forever straight into your sun

You woke me from a coma

To a hungry, jaded soul you’re Theobroma

Now I’m falling so quickly

That my homeostasis is measuring sickly

And Beautiful, if you’re the one

Can you guide my dark forever straight into your sun

And Beautiful, I’m fading fast

Throw a rope with hope and pull me from this dire forecast

A thousand candles could not light

My darkened days that seemed like nights

And yet your smile cut right through

Eternity, I’ve been renewed

It’s all because you’re so, so--- Beautiful

Beautiful, yes, you’re the one

Who can guide my dark forever back into the sun

And Beautiful, I’m locked in tight

As your gravity is pulling me into your bright, white light

You caught me red-handed

                                          FAR FROM BROKEN

100 years or more could never wipe away these feelings

From underhanded dealings that have turned our heat to raw cold

A shell game with your heart had me convinced you weren’t pretending

But Mercury descending brought an early frost,

Our love was lost, despite all efforts you may find me

Breaking, your love’s a token

Yeah you’ve got me breaking, but I am far from broken

A love steeped in corruption, I had questions, they were loaded

Had my heart been railroaded to appease your appetency

Like a death row prisoner I’d await the call to pardon

But your heart remained hardened as my plea through tears

Fell on deaf ears, despite all efforts you may find me

Breaking, to learn your love’s a token

Yeah, you’ve got me breaking, but I am far from broken

I used to know a girl who seemed so strong in faith, so rich in dreams

Somewhere down that road to glory she became a tragic story

But I know she’s still there inside, sometimes I see it in her eyes

So I hold on for this girl to return

Another gin-soaked Sunday, the hair of a dog that bit me

My elixir for the litany of injustices you’ve served up

And though they say what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger

I wonder how much longer my heart can endure without a cure

Despite all efforts you may find me

Breaking, a hard truth spoken

Yeah, you’ve got me breaking, but I’m so far from broken

                                              SONJOLE´

It was an ordinary Monday like every other

Finished my morning coffee, straightened my duvet cover

Ran out the door with briefcase toward the corner bus stop

As I approached I noticed her walking by the dress shop

She sat down on the bench and opened up a paperback

I took a seat behind her on the bus to Hackensack

Sonjole´, Heaven send a favor help me find a way

For my heart cannot take another day--all alone

I wonder where she came from and where she might be going

I had so many questions, surely my intrigue’s showing

She must have countless prospects,

My hopes are less than zero

With such unlikely odds I surrender to my fear, oh

I only learned her name when someone called her on the street

One mystery solved now she has me on the edge of my seat

Sonjole´, Heaven send a favor help me find a way

For my heart cannot take another day--all alone

Throughout the day the thought of her consumes me

I fear my heart is conquered

But in her presence reticence just dooms me

I’m silent though I want her so---- Sonjole´

So now in desperation I’m forced to write a letter

Investing all my trust in my pen to do much better

As if by Cupid’s signal the words pour out like water

And by tomorrow evening I pray that I’ll have caught her

But as I seal the envelope and start to write her name

The thought of not knowing might play out better for my game, oh

Sonjole´, Heaven send a favor help me find a way

For my heart cannot take another

Sonjole´, Heaven send a favor help me find a way

For my heart cannot take another day

                              MR. DECEMBER

I can’t remember what day I had met her

But I remember her to the letter

A French Twist up-do, low cut blouse

To show her goods for the good of the house

She had an army  of promising suitors

Serving them pints, Jello shots, and shooters

I was a singer in the band du jour

Living the dream on a one town tour

As the difference between her and I became stark

I was wishing the house lights would dim down to dark

But I came to my senses when I finally remembered

That she was Miss May and I was so Mr. December

I took a breather and hit up her station

Ordered a draft with little contemplation

I tried to slip a subtle innuendo

That went in one ear and right back out the window

Feeling the night getting hotter and longer

I switched up my drink needing something stronger

She’s a 5 alarm with a 4 point 0

And if I didn’t try how would I ever know

Now I have to confess something happened to me

Falling faster and much further than I should be

But I came to my senses when I finally remembered

That she was Miss May and I was still Mr. December

Father time is a heartless crook

What he gives in wisdom he takes in looks

But a ton of charm and an ounce of wit

Go a long, long way in the thick of it

Watching the clock getting closer to last call

Rethinking my game may require the long haul

I call a torch song to get her attention

But a lad at the bar began his intervention

So I concede my defeated advances

In hopes that the future renders further chances

She’s a five alarm with a 4 point 0

And if I don’t try again how will I ever know

Yeah,  I have to confess something happened to me

Falling faster and much further than I should be

Couldn’t come to my senses even if I remembered

That she was Miss May and I was still Mr. December

                                  HONEYCOMB

Down along Texaco Road,

Turn right when you’re at the sign for Dallas

See those lights reflecting off the skyline

No, no, that’s not Aurora Borealis,

That’s none other than the Honeycomb

Beau coup of the feminine gender

Man, you’re ‘bout to get your little mind blown

But be prepared to part with any and all your

Legal and illegal tender

If you were lonely you’ll be lonely no more

It’s a Honeycomb, oh it’s a Honeycomb, where you will be

Reborn again if you can get through the door

It’s a Honeycomb, yeah it’s a Honeycomb, take it from me

Hope you got your walkin shoes on

We’re about to park it out in Timbuk 3

Breeze’ll prolly’ sober us both up nice

Get us back in shape for round 2 and then 3

I got my eye on little Rita

Damn, she’s good to go in that wrap around thing

Only girl on Earth can make Stevie sing sweeter

Now look at me, begging like a doggie at the table

For just anything

If you were lonely you’ll be lonely no more

It’s a Honeycomb, oh it’s a Honeycomb, where you will be

Reborn again if you can get through the door

It’s a Honeycomb, yeah it’s a Honeycomb, take it from me

Some people call it the House of the Rising Sun,

Yes, it’s all that

I lost my wife to the word, I was all but done

We had a house but not a home

Went searching for that comfort zone

And I found it here at the Honeycomb

The line up at the door’s as long as War and Peace,

The moon is full and all the wolves are ready to pounce

Band inside is layin’ down some serious pocket

Got them people crazy dancin’ sick with the bounce

Down along Texaco Road

When you hit the miracle mile

See these lights reflecting in the sky---

Yonder lies the house that’s gonna reacquaint you

With your long-forgotten smile

If you were lonely you’ll be lonely no more

It’s a Honeycomb, oh it’s a Honeycomb, where you will be

Reborn again if you can get through the door

It’s a Honeycomb, yeah it’s a Honeycomb

                                           SOMETHING, ANYTHING

I’m a patient man, but it’s heading to the point of no return

You run so hot & cold, are you betting that the tables can’t be turned

So I lit a flair for this affair but you’re so blind or just don’t care and

Your apathy is so effective our fractured love can’t be corrected

You’ve called my bluff, I’ve had enough of the watching and waiting

So come on, come on, come on, come on

Just give me something, anything, I can hold on to, ‘cause I’ve got to warn you

If I don’t get something, anything I can believe in, I’m set for leavin’

So just give me something

The years become a blur if you can’t say that you tried to make them count

For anything worthwhile, having pleasure can be just as paramount

The life you live inside the lines will overshadow precious times and

I’m tryin’ to get the word across, we can’t get back the years we’ve lost

Don’t call my bluff, I’ve had enough of the watching and waiting

Come on, come on, come on, come on

Just give me something, anything, I can hold on to, ‘cause I’ve got to warn you

If I don’t get something, anything, I can believe in, I’m set for leavin’

So just give me something

                              HOLD ME

Everything’s as it should be,

Twisted & topsy-turvy

That’s when I finally say enough is enough

‘Cause here in the concrete jungle

I roll with the rough and tumble

But all that I want is you to

Hold me baby, baby, just a little bit closer

Hold me baby, you know I love to love you over & over

Hold me baby, baby, return the love to sender

Hold me baby, put the white flags out and just surrender

How can I concentrate when

All that I do is wait and

Stare at a clock that seems to tick in slow time

‘Cause here in the land of plenty

Without you I come up empty

And all that I want is you to

Hold me baby, baby, just a little bit closer

Hold me baby, you know I love to love you over & over

Hold me baby, baby, return the love to sender

Hold me baby, put the white flags out and just surrender

All week I can’t sleep, I toss and turn

Thinking of you every night

But when the weekend’s here it’s so clear

With you in my arms everything’s right

                        LATE BLOOMER

18th class reunion,

Charlatans astrut, spreading scuttlebut

Everyone's a winner, yeah

Everyone but me, nothing here to see

Never cared to follow the map

Good fortune never fell in my lap

Benz and Beamers fill the lot

Polished to the nines, screaming dollar $igns

Over in the corner spot

A hoopty sits alone, that's the one I own

Though you'd feel ashamed in my place

You won't see worry lines on my face

I may have stopped to smell the flowers

Dance with girls in April showers

And if I took the longer way 'round

Then got lost, well, now I've been found

Do not believe that vicious rumor

I'm no failure, I'm just a late bloomer

The Prom Queen's getting rowdy now

Had another glass, fallin' on her ass

Football hero's getting fat

Buttons pulling tight, isn't that a sight

How the mighty fall from so high

And end up in a little white lie

Cliques are stepping into line

Stoners over here, preppies over there

Goths and Hippies didn't show

But it's no surprise, maybe they got wise

Evolution seems to have stalled

And Darwin's had a laugh on us all

I may have stopped to smell the flowers

Dance with girls in April showers

And if I took the longer way 'round

Then got lost, well, now I've been found

Do not believe that vicious rumor

I'm no failure, I'm just a late bloomer

Casanova Kiss and Tell is movin' in on shy girl Mel

The football team is out in back doin' up lines and talkin smack

The "IT" girl throws a hissy fit 'cause no one seems to give a shit

And all the while I'm at the bar just laughing.....

I may have stopped to smell the flowers

Dance with girls in April showers

And if I took the longer way 'round

Then got lost, well, now I've been found

Do not believe that vicious rumor

I'm no failure, I'm just a late bloomer

                                  ONE MORE DAY

One more day without a word from her

Should I wait for tomorrow or is our time over-borrowed

One more day my heart is losing faith

Love’s been knocked to the canvas

How much more can I stand this

I’m long-forgotten, left to the lonely

My one and only seems to have wandered onward

Calls unanswered, reasons unspoken

Contact’s been broken and so I pine for one more day

Her picture sits upon my headboard shelf

That I kiss when I turn in but it won’t stop this yearnin’

A Valentine card she had sent to me

Was left open from reading now my hearts near conceding

I’m torn and tattered, confidence shaken

Somebody’s taken all that I could have, should have

Been more doting, when she was asking

Now there’s no masking how much I long for one more day

Oh, was it something she was needing that I overlooked and

Oh, was there someone whose competing

Finally overtook her heart

One more day without a word from her

I’m a week beyond fretful, destination regretful

One more day my heart is losing faith

Hope is down for the counting, not a chance for rebounding

I’m long-forgotten, left to the lonely

My one and only seems to have wandered onward

Calls unanswered, reasons unspoken

Contact’s been broken oh how I long for one more day

House is silent in the morning

Every night it’s tea for one

If indeed there was a warning

I still don’t know what I’ve done

Is it someone else whose big cash flow

Has won her over head to toe

Can he make her laugh, can he make her cry

As he sings his April lullabye

When the sun goes down and the cold winds blow

Does he know the little things I know she knows I know…

                      GIRL OF THE YEAR

Clip clop, boots talk, and everybody turns to

See as you walk and flip your hair to show that

You're so carefree and full of confidence that

You don't need me or any other

Weight to hold you down

The tally's in now you're the toast of town

Hashtag "BIG SHOT" the shutterbugs all want what

You know you've got, but don't you know that you're a

Dime a dozen, and when they're done you're just a

Kissing cousin, they leave you looking

Desparate and dirt-cheap

But life filled with real love's a life to keep

And I was there at the start, you were my girl of the day

I handed over my heart to help my girl on her way

But as the days turned to weeks that turned to months

It was clear that I was long forgotten by

THE GIRL OF THE YEAR

No missed A list, if "IT'S" a thing you've gotta

Be where "IT" is, but "IT" is nothing more than

Smoke and mirrors, eventually you've gotta

Face your fears, you can't avoid your

Destiny with fate

Even "IT" has an expiration date

Hashtag "TRAGIC", the Paparazzi's gonna

Work their magic and catch you with your Donnatella

Skirt up, yeah they work harder to

Expose a fuck up, oh how it's gonna

Bring them so much joy

Returning you back to the Hoipoloi

And I was there at the start, you were my girl of the day

I handed over my heart to help my girl on her way

But as the days turned to weeks that turned to months

It was clear that I was long forgotten by

THE GIRL OF THE YEAR

Down the rabit hole you fell

The spotlight hit and you went head to toe

Under its spell

But there it's hard to breath

The more they want the less the chance

That you can ever leave, until...

Girl slip-sliding all the way down 'til she's a

Girl in hiding, where no news is good news and

Phones stop ringing, your tweets are muted from the

Praise they're singing about the latest

Offering of fresh meat

Be thankful someone's sitting in your seat

And I was there at the start, you were my girl of the day

I handed over my heart to help my girl on her way

But as the days turned to weeks that turned to months

It was clear that I was long forgotten by

THE GIRL OF THE YEAR

                                     MISSION MAN

In a little shanty by the shore, they consummated love on a cold, wet floor

A romance bloomed from ambiguity, in the ravage of war

Reluctant soldier on a weekend leave, a waitress with a drink and a smile

That he needed, as she did, a spark of hope that was born from the wreckage

Promise unspoken, but when he left her a bond remained unbroken

She’s carrying a torch for the Mission Man

Waiting on the porch with a wish and plan

She wrote a loving letter every day, recounting every heartbeat he’d been away

And he’d write back whenever time allowed, but time rarely did

Three weeks late she noticed something strange

A morning sickness brought on a change for the

Bigger, not better, a branded girl with a scarlet letter

Watching, pretending, ‘til proof would show the inevitable ending

She’s carrying a torch for the Mission Man

Waiting on the porch with a wish and plan

A child is born, a woman is scorned

In half a home, she’ll raise him alone

She’s carrying a torch for the Mission Man

Waiting on the porch with a wish and plan

Raise another glass to the Mission Man

Who said he’s coming back just a soon as he can

                                         TARZAN

Hey boy you’re stuck in limbo, time to deep six that bimbo

Oh yeah, she’s young and pretty, but pretty goes south and…

Word spread like wildfire I was the talk of town,

(The year my love exploded)

The smile that lived on my face just turned upside down,

(The year my love exploded)

Her gumshoe did such good work, big money pays for big hurt

My PD said no fearoes, just keep adding zeroes

Their lynch mob formed quite a line clear around the block

(The year my love exploded)

That judge just cornered the market on hatred stock

(The year my love exploded)

He said "you made your own bed, it’s ready for you to lay down"

But those foolish vows that we said

Weren’t able to keep me tied down in…the year my love exploded

That grass was greener than green in my little girl's yard

(the year my love exploded)

So I bet the house on a whim and a wild card

(the year my love exploded) (the year my love exploded)

Na, na, na, na, na, an, na--------

                                    A GOODBYE SONG

Faith was your virtue but that tide’s been turning

Since you chose to jump from the bridge we were burning

Wear your heart on your sleeve

Show some conviction in what you believe

When you hide love like it’s wrong

What starts with a promise will end in a goodbye song

So much speculation, so hard not to listen

That you’d seek attention you seem to be missing

If I stand clear from the fray

And leave you with your own devices at play

This love will end before long

As you spin your alibi,  I’ll spin my goodbye song

All trust is broken, your gun’s still smokin’

And we can’t get back what’s gone

Somewhere down the road, should you reconsider

How can I forget this tasting so bitter

Chance will sink like a stone

I’m once bitten twice shy, you’re best left alone

So if you’re set to move on

I hope you’ll remember these words, ‘cause you should

Know the words to my goodbye song

                                                MY NEW HOME

10 years of tolerance, I've set a record here

It would have been much easier on everyone

If I just could face my fear

All of our friends were wondering

How the end arrived so late

And if indeed I would recover from my newly altered state

I'm covering up my ears

But I can't stop the voices in my head

So I'm hiding beneath our empty bed

She hands me her new number just in case I need to find her

I took it to the landfill and buried it

Along with all the ugly reminders

Who'll get the Bently, who'll get the Chateau at Briere

Who'll get the left over bills, oh, I don't even care

I'm dancing, I'm naked, I'm drunk

I'm flying into the great unknown

It's starting to feel like my new home

Our priceless collectibles are just collecting dust

My John Lennon lithographs are laughing at her

Broken Beethoven bust

The telephone's been drinking Martinis

The sofa is speaking in French

This morning I glued all my tools together

To use as my new workbench

And I'm dancing, I'm naked, I'm drunk

I'm flying into the great unknown

It's starting to feel like my new home

It's bold, it's daring, it's new

It's everything strange but nothing like you

And when it's finished, please do come and see

The wonder of my new home, so perfect, so me

La la la la la la

La la la la la la dio

La la la la la la

La la la la la la la la

I'm covering up my ears

But I can't stop the voices in my head

So I'm hiding beneath our empty bed

I'm dancing, I'm naked, I'm drunk

I'm flying into the great unknown

It's starting to feel like my new

It's starting to feel like my new

Yes, it's starting to feel like my new home-------
